Richard Arghiris is a freelance travel journalist and writer of cult fiction. His spirit of adventure has taken him all over the world and his past lives are many: a croupier on seedy cruise ships, an immigrant worker in brutal Dutch factories, a porter in a shady London auction house - to name just a few. He now devotes himself exclusively to penmanship, having studied feature writing at the London School of Journalism and creative writing at Soho’s prestigious Groucho Club. His feature articles have appeared in a range of websites and magazines and they explore such colourful topics as gambling, tequila, bull fighting, hallucinogenic mushrooms and Mayan archaeology. In the summer of 2005, Richard was commissioned to explore Eastern Europe by The Gap Year Company – host of Britain’s largest on-line travel community. In 2006, he substantially contributed to the 7th edition of The Rough Guide to Mexico. His work is due to appear in at least three different books in 2007. Richard’s fictional voice is equally strong and he is currently working on a picaresque novel - ‘Dog Juice’ - based loosely on his own experiences working and travelling. Richard’s interests include hiking, anthropology and the natural
world. He is a student of dreams and mythology, and believes passionately
in the transformative power of journeys. He lives in London but Mexico
is his spiritual home. |
